What type of wood are the colored wooden beads made of?
Our colored wooden beads come from fast growing trees: Taiwanese Cheesewood.
How are the wooden beads dyed?
Our colored wooden beads are colored with a dye. By coloring, the wooden beads retain their natural appearance, unlike painting them. In addition, the beads have a layer of wax for a beautiful finish.
Do they lose their color?
Colored wooden beads may eventually fade. This is a natural development and this process can be accelerated by the following factors:
- Prolonged exposure to light;
- Water, perfume and soap;
- Wear and tear from frequent use (friction on clothing and body).
As colored wooden beads age through wear and tear, the character of these beads changes. If colorfast beads are desired, we recommend choosing non-natural beads.
