Stringing beads on thread
When choosing stringing thread, you should consider the bead hole (inner size) of your beads.
It is always important to use a thread or cord that is thinner than the bead hole of your beads. Do your beads have an inner size of 1 mm? Then you will need a cord of 0.8 mm or smaller.
Note: the correct size of stringing thread also depends on the type of cord. Because metal wire is easier to string than, for example, wax cord, a 0.8 mm metal wire will just fit through a 1 mm bead hole. But this is not possible with wax cord, and in that case it is better to choose 0.5 mm.
You can find the inner size (bead hole) of a bead on the website under product specifications.
Tip: Want to make the bead hole larger? Use a bead reamer, which allows you to carefully enlarge the hole so your cord will fit through more easily. Use water to prevent cracks (wet filing).
Suitable stringing thread includes:
